Our appraiser, Lori P. Coogan, has over 10 years experience
in the jewelry trade, and received her Graduate Gemologist
(G.G.) in Residence diploma from the Gemological Institute
of America (GIA) in Carlsbad, California in 2001, and is
the only member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers
(NAJA) located on the south shore of Boston. Lori has advanced
training in jewelry appraisal theory from the American Society
of Appraisers (ASA), and is a member of the GIA Alumni Association.
She frequently attends jewelry conferences and takes courses
to stay on top of current gemological advances and appraisal
training.
Our appraisals are extremely thorough, and include detailed
descriptions, enlarged photographs, and diamond plots on
major diamonds. We adhere to the strict standards put forth
by the American Society of Appraisers and the National Association
of Jewelry Appraisers. While other companies may provide
“appraisals” by an untrained individual at a lesser fee,
you get what you pay for, and it will not protect you fully
in the event of a loss.
We will make the process as simple and straightforward
as possible for you. If you have just a few items or an
extremely sentimental piece you would like evaluated, we
can often appraise these pieces while you wait by appointment.
We can also fax a copy of the completed report to your insurance
